For over a decade, I have been working with clients as a certified Life Coach trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mental Health &Wellness and Relationship Therapy. I am also currently enrolled
in a diploma course for Mental Health Practitioner .
I have had the honor of working with some of the most resilient and fascinating people over the years. My clients are from all walks of life globally from Canada to the UK, to the caribbean. I will connect with you from wherever you are.
I specialize in helping clients with stress management, time management, personal development and overall mental wellness.
I also offer coaching for those who struggle with feeling overwhelmed, anxious, going through major life transitions or relationship matters.
If it's impacting your mental wellness, I'm here to help!
In 2019, I published my very first book, A Mother's Love - The unfamiliar warnings signs of mental illness.
This book is my heart on paper display. I share my very personal and painful journey of being a mother of a teenaged son who battled with mental illness.
It is a project I am extremely proud of and even more so when parents reach out to tell me how my journey has helped them understand that they are not alone. Many also share they have become much more aware of the warning signs that parents (and others) often overlook.
It is a book of pain, awareness and most of all, hope.
I continue to enjoy working with young people who want nothing more than to become the best version of themselves.
MENTAL HEALTH:
I am very passionate about mental health advocacy. Having it impact not only my son but also myself in my later adult years makes the topic extremely personal. Often having to be my son's voice in order to get the attention and treated he needed, I learned first hand the negative attitude and stigma that comes with having a mental illness.
Because of this, I have welcomed the opportunities I've had to speak to audiences in different settings about how the impact of mental illness and being mentally unwell, at different times in our lives can play a major role in quality of life. I also share the power of becoming a part of the movement to stop the bias opinions and the stigma it carries.
As a business owner, I celebrate and bring awareness to supporting mental health throughout the calendar year. It's become a part of my DNA.
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS:
As a 2x breast cancer survivor,
(most recently diagnosed in 2022 at stage 3),
I've spent 18 months in treatment fighting to survive. Since then, I am so grateful to say, I have been cancer free for the past 16 months
(at the time of writing this).
Diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, (TNBC) I've learned it is a rare, aggressive and difficult to treat type of cancer. It is also a fact that black women are "disproportionately affected" by this type of breast cancer and are much more likely to die from it compared to white women with the same diagnosis.
Because of this, I make it a priority to share my story and to help educate other women and bring awareness to the importance of early screening and detection. I've enjoyed taking part as a Guest Speaker and Panalist at several events and look forward to continuing to speard the word within my community.
